Straw Bale Homes

We were excited to do a straw bale addition to an early 1800's stone farm house in Bucks County, PA - 2004. The exterior photo shows the straw bale addition (left) attached to the original stone house (right side of photo). The project involved a timberframe in the addition and restoration of the original stone farm house.

Images 2 & 3 show clay plastered straw bale walls in the kitchen's pantry and hand made tiles in the bathroom's clay/straw hardened floor. Image 4 is the straw proof window. Image 5 is a restored beaded board wall with door in the original stone farm house.
